In recent years, plant extracts have been increasingly widely used in pharmaceuticals, functional foods, dietary supplements, sports nutrition products, health products, cosmetics, and other fields. At the same time, thanks to the significant role of traditional Chinese medicine, which is based on natural plants, in disease prevention, treatment, and epidemic control, the market for raw materials for health products represented by plant extracts has broad prospects for development. As a typical export-oriented industry, China exported 107,000 tons of plant extracts in 2022, a year-on-year increase of 2.0%, with total export value reaching USD 3.53 billion, a year-on-year increase of 16.5%, showing an overall upward trend.

To strengthen the foundation for the internationalization and branding of plant extract enterprises and promote the high-quality integration of the industry into the global community with innovative thinking and an international perspective, the "Natural Extracts Zone," as one of the featured zones of CPHI China 2025, will be grandly unveiled from June 24 to 26, 2025, at the Shanghai New International Expo Center. The zone will continue to focus on the latest policy trends, market development directions, and collaborate with enterprises to explore product efficacy, formulation processes, expand new development areas, and enhance their comparative advantages in the existing market competition.
